One of the top criteria for our apartment when we moved to Honolulu was to find a place within waking distance to a good coffee shop.

After looking at the place that eventually became our home, we walked down the the street to the Blue Tree Cafe. It's a great little place with good coffee and tea.

Comfortable places to site outside, check

But, more importantly, it has a great vibe. We've been a few times and it looks like a popular spot for locals. Some just came in for a coffee to go, others hung out with their laptops.

Bike handlebars repurposed as barstool backs, double awesome

The decor is definitely hipster. In fact, I'd say they make Austin coffee shops look like gathering places for the Young Republicans.
