Secret entrance to The Study, inside The Modern Hotel, Waikiki, Hawaii

Behind a bookcase in the lobby of The Modern Hotel in Waikiki is a hidden bar called The Study. At 6pm, The Study opens by swinging the bookcase to reveal a modern bar.  It's an amazing sight, like something out the 60s TV series Batman. To the batpoles!

The bar itself is sleek with low slung furniture and tables. We enjoyed pomegranate margaritas, which were $8 at happy hour.

Then, we had the burrata bruschetta, which, unfortunately was made with mozzarella as the kitchen was out of burrata. We also had the flatbread with mushrooms, sans the truffle oil. If you don't know, truffle oil is evil and should never be consumed by any human.

I'm sure the bar gets a lot busier later at night, but for happy hour it was real chill.
