A banana tree grows in Glasgow

Ripening bananas at the Glasgow Botanic Garden, Glasgow, Scotland
Who would think that you could find a real, live banana tree in Glasgow, Scotland? And this one is actually bearing fruit.

The Glasgow Botanic Garden has several greenhouses with tropical plants under the glass. But, calling the space a greenhouse doesn't do it justice. The space is over 23,000 square feet and there's works of art (sculptures) mingling with the plants. If you'd like to know a little more about this special oasis in Glasgow, I posted about it back in January.
