Place des Jacobins fountain, Lyon, France

 Our last day in Lyon and we did an awful lot of walking exploring the 1st and 2nd arrondissement.

This fountain in Place des Jacobins doesn't seem to be particularly famous, but it does have a bit of controversy. 

The original fountain, built in 1856 was removed in 1866. Two years later a new fountain was designed, but it was deemed to big for the square so it was moved to Place Carnot in 1877. The current fountain and monument was inaugurated in 1885. Although I personally don't find the fountain especially beautiful (it's not ugly either, just ok, imho), it has been included in the supplemental list of French historic monuments.
