Hanging Bridges Park in Costa Rica, Dragon Bridge in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Lyon's bridges (Part 1 and Part 2), and the famous Pont Alexander III in Paris, are some of the bridges I've posted about in the past.

Bridges don't have to be fancy, or old, or architecturally important to catch my attention. Some just need to be used by the people of the city.

The South Portland Street Suspension Bridge is made of wrought iron and replaced a wooden one that stood for 14 years and was designed by Robert Stevenson, a famous Scottish engineer who also designed lighthouses and was the grandfather of the writer, Robert Lewis Stevenson.

The South Portland Street Suspension Bridge, also known as the Carlton Place Bridge, connects the city center in Glasgow to the Laurieston district. The bridge isn't famous or a landmark that attracts tourists, but I enjoyed watching the folks of Glasgow use the bridge (it's for pedestrians and bikes only) as a part of their daily lives.
