Magic Island, Honolulu, Hawaii

Ala Moana Beach
I've posted in the past about watching the sunset on Waikiki. I've also posted about watching the free fireworks display every Friday night.
But, we always watched from Waikiki Harbor.
Karen suggested we watch from Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach.
So, we headed to the beach.
Beautiful view of the city
So did everybody else. While it's not crowded, since there is a lot of space at Ala Moana Beach, there were a lot of people there.
A family enjoying a cookout. Bring your Makua (Uncle)
Families cooking out. Couples walking hand in hand. Groups of teenagers having fun.
Magic Island isn't really an island. It's a peninsula that sticks out from Ala Moana Beach.
Turn to the west and you get a great view of the sunset. Turn to the east and watch the free (but very short) fireworks show which is every Friday night about 7:45.

But, be careful on the rocks. I slipped, and boy, those volcanic rocks are sharp!
