Manifest Cafe
Manifest is a cafe in Chinatown, Honolulu. At least it's a cafe during the day. That's when we went there recently.
Since we moved to Honolulu in April, we've been using a phrase over and over again to describe places like Manifest. That phrase is "Austin wishes it could be this cool." We say that not to diminish Austin, but to show that Honolulu has a proliferation of chill spots.
Manifest is one of those places. Just inside the front door is a gorgeous mural. There's another nice mural in the back near the kitchen as well.
But, what I liked best was the combination of indoor/outdoor space at Manifest. While the bar area seems like a normal indoor space, if you move towards the back of the space, you'll notice that there is no roof and you can sit in a very nice courtyard-like area.
I think this area must double as a dance floor/performance space because there is a disco ball hanging nearby. I read online that Manifest has DJs and live performances most nights. We'll have to go back at night because the drinks listed on the chalkboard behind the bar look pretty good.
