Brewseum, Kaka'ako, Honolulu

We've been wanting to go the Brewseum ever since we moved into the neighborhood. Finally, we got there for a nice Friday evening.
First, a little history. The Brewseum started as the Home of the Brave Museum (which is next door). It's a WWII museum and these folks know their stuff (their consulted on the movie Pearl Harbor). Later, the brewpub was added and it contains tons of memorabilia as well, like a Jeep used in the movie Pearl Harbor, photos, model planes and even old phones you can pick up and listen to recordings by WWII vets.
The bar has six microbrews on tap, including their own Home of the Brave, which is specially brewed for the bar in Wisconsin.
Sorry for the quality of the photos, it was late, dark and someone might've been drinking. But, you can sorta make out the model planes that moved around on a belt overhead.
The night we went they were having a 40's night. But, most of the patrons were dressed in 1950s garb (poodle skirts and saddle shoes for the women, peg slacks and fedoras for the men) while a great band played rockabilly hits from Buddy Holly and Elvis. Lots of dancing in a small, sweaty place.
Pick up the phone and listen to WWII vets' memories
If you want a more relaxed vibe, there's a speakeasy, Wiki Waki Woo, next door on the second floor. We didn't make it there because the Brewseum was hoppin'.
