Manoa Chocolate, Kailua, Hawaii
The cacoa plant grows in the tropics; places like Brazil, Ghana and Indonesia. And also Hawaii, the only place in the States where the cacoa tree grows.
Manoa Chocolate is a bean to bar chocolate company in Kailua, on the windward side of Oahu.
The great thing about Manoa Chocolate is that they source chocolate from all over world. And they make lots of different flavors of chocolate. Ask to try the ghost pepper chocolate, if you like spicy.
Usually, you can get a tour of the factory, but they were undergoing a renovation when we visited, so we just did a tasting.
Gerard makes truffles in house. We bought a few and my favorite was the pistachio.
