Chisea del Carmine, Lecce, Italy
Basilica di Santa Croce gets a lot of the attention for its over the top baroque design in Lecce, Puglia.
But, because of an earthquake in 1693, most of the city was rebuilt in the baroque style. So, there are many baroque masterpieces to be seen.
One of them is the Chisea del Carmine which was built in the early 18th century. Check out the extraordinary carvings in the soft limestone of the facade.
